Flux Pavilion

Joshua Steele, more commonly known as Flux Pavilion, will be performing at Beachclub on June 2nd ! Flux Pavilion, born in Towcester, is a British composer, music producer, singer and DJ. Co-founder of the label Circus, he is one of the most recognized artists of the Dubstep scene, thanks to singles such as I Can’t Stop or Bass Cannon. He also plays drums, guitar, saxophone and piano, and he sold out the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado twice.

Influences

It was artists like David Bowie, The Beatles and Frank Zappa who pushed him to pursue a career in music, and already at a very young age he was destined for success. He released his first vinyl record at only 19 years old, and undertook several musical projects. However, it was after hearing artists like The Prodigy and The Chemical Brothers that he finally found a musical direction he truly wanted to explore for himself. He also says that one of the turning points of his career was when he visited the superclub Fabric in London : “I never went to clubs because I didn’t feel accepted into that scene; it felt too showy, too well-groomed. Then I saw Rusko play at Fabric and it changed my perception of everything. He was jumping around wearing a big cardboard hat shaped like a bird playing the most outrageous music I had ever heard. I loved it.

Achievements

Flux Pavilion has since collaborated with several major international artists such as Dillon Francis, Steve Aoki and Childish Gambino, and has attracted the attention of artists such as Snoop Dog, Fat Boy Slim, Dr. Dre and Christina Aguilera. He also headlined three major tours in the United States, and two in the UK, and has played in several major festivals such as Coachella and EDC Vegas. With more than 4 million followers on Soundcloud, 1.4 million likes on Facebook and 450,000 followers on Twitter, Flux Pavilion is definitely an artist to watch.
